Hello everyone, I recently got my hands on a clean set of valve covers and need to give the top end of the motor some TLC. I will be replacing the valve cover gaskets, manifold plenum gaskets, upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. I am having trouble understanding where I need to place RTV on the valve cover gaskets and the lower intake manifold gasket. I uploaded a photo of the valve covers and a photo of the lower intake manifold area. I have a one piece gasket as well.

For the lower intake manifold gasket, from my understanding RTV needs to be placed on the china walls and the rear/front portion of the gasket where the small rectangles are. And nowhere else?

If anyone could lend a hand and dumb it down as much as you can, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

I think with the one piece gaskets you just need a little dab where the heads and block meet

I also like to put gasket shellac on the valve cover gaskets to try and make sure they don’t leak.
