Help with rattle sound. Video Posted.

So i think this is coming from the exhaust.
When the rpms go up high and are coming down it makes this rattling tin sound coming from under the truck i think.
i dont know the exact rpms that it happens at because i dont have a tack in my truck.

Any help our ideas on what this could be would help alot. Thanks guys.

Take the palm of your hand and slap the muffeler and the cat. I have found the ma and pa muffeler shops do better work and will only replace what is necessary. It could be just something touching the exhaust or a loose/broken mount (engine, tranny or exhaust pipe)?

i just went out there and hit it as hard as i could and it didnt really make any kinda of sound.
It doesnt have a cat on it anymore, just the factory muffler.
I really wish i had a tack. i was just revving it up again and it only does it when its coming down from a high rpm. It only does it for maybe a second.

here i took a video of it.

Alot of times it a heat shield they are just tacked on. Have somebody get under there with leather gloves on to get touchy feely with it while you re- create the rattle.

+ 1 on the the heat shield over the cat (former cat)...or it could also be the wonky one on the actual header. You listed your model year as 2000 but that would mean you have the 2.5 engine or the newer duratech 2.3...which I don't think I've seen up close...

The headers have an aluminum shield over them but it usually is pretty sturdy...unless, of course, you've taken a few too many screws out of it at some point.

Edit: Oh, yeah, I've also seen some shielding over by the brake master that can come loose and wobble against the brake lines...might want to check that too...

Yeah I have a 2.5l
And I stuffed a rag between the heat shield and the truck so there was no movement and it still make the sounded

I haven't been able to look at the heat shield by the headers yet and ill check the shielding by the break lines

I've had the same problem before. It's always been a loose heat shield somewhere.
