I have an 88 ranger with 2.9l. I am trying to get the pulley off the power steering and it wont budge. Any ideas?

Does it just slide off with a puller?

It takes some force to get it off. Need a power steering pump pulley puller in order to pull it off perfectly strait. Definitely not going to pry off very easy. The puller grabs on the the ridge outside of the pulley and threads into the pump shaft. Think they run between 30-60, might be able to rent one. Also need an installer, but most new pumps come with a bolt and washer to install it back on.

What I am trying to do is change the seal where the pump and the resevior come together. But I can figure out how they come apart.
