I have a 93 ranger that is running really bad. It started stalling while idling maybe 4 or 5 times a week Then it started getting worse and when going down the rd it seemed like someone just flipped the key to the off position and then back to the on position. whats odd is it would go for a week or two with no problems at all and then start acting up again. Today it started running really rough i made it about 1/2 a mile and had to turn around and come back home. I noticed that the voltage gauge was all over the place while i was trying to get back home. I took it to a mechanic he tested a few things and ran 1/2 tank of gas out but had no problems out of it. It started acting up again about a week after he looked at it so i took it back to him and he told me he thought it was the computer screwing up.I had another person look at it and he recommended i change out the throttle position sensor. we changed that it ran fine for 2 days then it started acting up again. I tried to pull the codes and a few times it seemed to give me just random numbers but i consistently get 33 and 13.

Another problem I seem to be having is locating a computer I have called everyone and kind not find a replacement.

2 wheel drive

Any help would be greatly appreciated

it almost seems like an electrical issue the way it runs, its like the engine shuts off and instantly regains power

Check all of your connections near the battery and then all the grounds. I have had this happen to me a couple times and it was almost always a loose connection on one of the battery cables.

If it needs a computer try ecmtogo.com. They can fix the old one. You can try car-part.com and find a used one too.

Plenty of folks sell the ECMs on ebay. But doesn't sound like bad ECM to me... Sounds like dirty or loose connection. 20 years of vibration and corrosion sets in and can create all kinds of electrical headaches.
