hey all. i am new to the site and wanted some info on gearing. i have the stock d35 on my little ranger and am looking into changing...upgrading on gears. what gearing does it have? what is the best gear ratio to use all around?mostly using truck for trail/mud bogging im looking into lifting and putting on bigger tires then stock.

check your axle code on your door tag or check the tag on the rear diff. we need to know what motor, axles, and tires you want to run before we can give you a good recommendation. PS gearing is expensive.

Yep, what he said. You can also look in the tech library if you need more information.

well i am running a 2.9 with injector rebuild kit and k&n filter and the stock dana 35 i believe and i want to put on some 33s. looking into lifting also but i wanted to know what was the best quality lift kit for a 1990 ranger. any help would be greatly appreciated

Skyjacker is about the best overall in suspension lifts for a Ranger. A close 2nd would be James Duff. (check the reviews post at the top here)

As for gears, 4.88 would be a good ratio with 33" tires on a 2.9L.
