im about to convert my 85 ranger to a duraspark and i was wondering if i could just use any performance coil in the style needed for the conversion and is this the best way to go about simpleizing the wiring

thanks

As long as the coil runs on battery voltage otherwise you need to add a ballast resistor. The simplest is to use your stock coil and wire it the same as the second colored diagram in the tech library here is the link.http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/2_8Duraspark.html If you use the stock coil then the stock motorcraft plugs are the best I hear but I am running autolite single platinum without a hitch

i have to use serten plugs because of the motor build my brother and i did but a forget which ones at the moment

motor work 2.8l
bore 60 over
comp cam
dual springs
oversized valves
ti. pushrods
port polish
holley carb
flat top high compressoin pistons
strengthen rods
high volume oil pump
shaved the head (cant remember how much)
thats all i can remember at the moment
