I want to put a set of Cragar S/S's on my 99 Ranger 4WD but am having difficulty getting a definitive answer on the backspacing and offset. According to the tech library here, the backspacing should be 3.75 inches with a -6mm offset on a 15x7. I emailed Cragar and they said their 61715 wheel will work and also recommended the correct lugs. But that wheel has 4.125 backspacing with a +3mm offset. Is that going to be a problem ?:icon_confused:

My paranoia stems from of set of Cragars coming off a GTO I had a long time ago. My fault cuz I had the wrongs lugs but what was funny at 17 years old wouldn't be quite as much fun now. Interestingly the tech library info has a red asterick for data supplied by American Racing Wheels that has a very similar looking Torque Thrust. Problem is they are more expensive and I've always been an S/S/ fan.

If anyone can provide a definitive answer as to if the Cragar 61715 will create any problems for me it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure how many people are going to say they are running the SS's on a 4x4. The tech library also states that the normal backspacing is 4 1/2" and the *recommended BS is 3 3/4". Those Cragars are right in the middle. Sure don't think you would have a problem. What size tires you planning on? I ran them on the back of my '87' but they were 8" wide with 4" BS, tires 245 series and just got a little rubbing on the outside when loaded and hitting bumps. Rolled the fender lip and solved that.

I run a 15x7 with 4" backspacing on my 99 4x4. I have 31x10.5's on it, and I have no issues. An extra 1/8" of backspacing should not make a difference.
