So I have a 1999 ford ranger 2.5l my problem is when I rev high truck spudders or shuts off I can tell when rpms I'm at due to not haveing a tack any advice would help
If you are not moving, it is doing what it is supposed to do. There is a rev limiter to prevent things from escaping out through the pan and block, such as pistons, connecting rods, and perhaps crankshaft bits.
If you are not in neutral, going up through the gears, check your fuel delivery volume and pressure. Other things generally need a bit more detailed description of the problem ...
