I know this has been asked many times here but i dont have time to search and read them all, I have 93 4x4 with 4.0 automatic Tranny Axle code from the door says 91 ?? Looking to go to my local parts yard and get different rearend, there are lots of exploders in this juck yard, I guess what do i need to look for when going to this yard the same code on the door and about the same year ? Im pretty sure mine is 8.8 with 28 spline but hve no idea about the ratio, thanks for any and all help need to get this up and going ASP. would be nice if it waremed up it's like 8 below zero right now Bur.

But you'll sit back and wait til someone answers you? REALLY?

What vehicle are we talking about?

W e talking about 1993 Ranger, well thanks for the Bull $hit remarks looking for help, Wellcan check other sites if this is the kinda help ya get here or i may ask some novice that can give a guy some help.

Yes, that's what I would do.
Edit; That's what I would do for the same vehicle, IE; ranger for ranger, exploder for exploder etc.

The BULLSHIT remarks are because you're too damn lazy to search for the information yourself when it's right at your finger tips.

The highlighted statement is was really irritates me. He blatantly states that he doesn't feel like searching for his answer and that we should hand it to him.

I didn't hand it to him either, he still has to do some digging.

I doubt it took any longer to go to the tech library (especially in its newly sectionalized form) and find it than to type up a slam... and answer a question this popped up in my head as well: "do Ranger's and Explorer's even have the same door codes?"

An explorer axle wont be bolt in. Id look for a ranger axle unless you are ready to do some welding.

Well just got off work, and checking the replys to see if some have gave some info on helping me out, and thanks much for those that have once again, sounds like if i have same axle code which mine is a 91 3.73 gears I will right now head out to the bone yard and find a ranger close to my year and hope it works.
And as far as searching the forum some have time to sarch I work long hours and dont have much time 2 spend on the computer, whats the sence to have a forum if you cant ask for help ?? I know lots of folks have already done this and i would get a quicker reply is all, I have done a share of my work in my younger days on the 150s just not on hese rangers. For those helping me out thanks much, if you ever broke down in my area give a call will be the first to help you out a well. The others call a wrecker.

It looks like 3.27's on my computer.

Not a big deal if you don't see this before you go shopping and drag home a 3.73 axle, go back and get the front diff while you are at it and you will be much happier. :icon_thumby:

Edited my first post;
