hey,
Anyone out remember the part #'s for the radiator hoses they used
with the 4.0l extra cooling package radiator tucked under radiator
suport ?
I decided to use the the above radiator with my v8 conversion
just thought I might try to take some of the guess work out
of it.
Thanks,
Andrew.

Napa 8650. You'll have to trim it and section the center with 1.5" pipe.

Thanks man! That looks like it works well. :woot: I am going to tuck my radiator under the radiator support so there may be some small reach diffrences. Anyone know what they used for a lower hose?

I used a plastic 2" 90* corner from the hardware shop, and a 14" flex rad hose from the industrial supply shop here in town. The rad hose was 2" I.D. on one end and 1.75" on the other, worked great.

PM me if you want pics

I don't mean to jack this tread, but while we're on the topic of engine fluids, where did you locate your remote oil filter?

Where did you buy your 4.0 extra cooling radiator? Do you have a brand name , part # , and cost? Do you know how many tubing rows it has?

I used a radiator out of a 1994 Ford explorer 4 core, new they cost around 175 to 220 bucks. My lower hose was a 21" flex hose 1 3/4 on 1 end and 1 1/2 on the other end.

i think it's this one. -----Linky-----

Hey Bruce do you have this on a 5.0L engine ?????? do you have overheat problems??????? do you do some trail at low speed wiyh your truck ?????. I'm going to put this ones too on my Ranger 5.0L EFI.

We just got it running last week but i have 2 10" fans pushing air thru it each fan flows 1,000 cfm each. I also have an external trans cooler mounted in front of 1 of the fans so it sucks air thru the cooler. We have a 5.0 in it out of an 1989 lincoln town car. I havent had it get hot yet but its been cold here too.Its mostly a highway vehicle as its 2 wheel drive, kinda like a grocery getter. Right now its in the muffler shop cops didnt like us driving it around open headers and no tags.

the one linked by MUDNSNOW appears to be a exploder rad. I got 2 from my pickNpull because they were $30 each and they only take like 10 min to pull.

good thing i picked up two, I had to get the rad shop to play rubics cube and switch them up. one had a bad core and one had bad tanks. hahaha. I plan on running 4 pusher fans on the front of the rad. And due to the amazingly shitty belt setup on the front of my 90' towncar 5.0L I had to move my rad into the core support and build my on rad support. This involved chopping most of the bottom of the core support out. I hope the four 9-10" pusher fans can keep me cool when I am stuck yet still demanding from the engine. I assume they will.
I am running pushers because there is only about 2" of room between my rad and the belt sheaves.

I cut groves in the end of the plastic 90 where it goes onto the rad spout so the hose clamp can actually do it's work.

Have you got a pic of that hose setup installed in your truck. I still don't exactly see how it all works together.

Interesting. I have that same rad in my truck. I am gathering parts for a 302 swap right now and maybe now I don't need to get a rad !!!
