I have a 2000 Ford Ranger and the check engine light kept coming on. Took it to a auto shop and had the engine replaced. Thought everything would be fine after that but I'm still having problems. Check Engine light continued to come on so it went back to the shop. They said everything was good to go but once again Check Engine Light came on. Now my OBD II is reading codes P1151 & P1309.

Can anyone help me out to resolve these problems so I don't have to spend more money when it's not actually getting fixed to begin with?

Thanks!

I have a few questions to ask that will help us help you.

1) What engine is in this thing?

2) Was it a new (reman) engine put in, or a junk yard unit

3) Did you actually have the engine replaced just because the check engine light came on, or did you skip some steps on the story?

1151 is a lack of oxygen sensor switching, probably a bad sensor, but hard to say for sure without having the truck on hand to test.

1309 is misfire monitor disabled, with the most likely cause being an incorrectly installed cam sensor. It could also be a bad computer.
