I have a 1998 ford ranger xlt 2.5 2wd.

So this is my problem please give as much detail as possible. I beleive i have a crap High beam switch. Which is connected to the *(wipers,wiper water washer,blinkers,warning lights,High beam switch).*

Now i think i have a bad high beam switch because 1 it does not turn the HIGH BEAM LIGHT on, on the dash. Also it does not turn the actual high beam bulbs on.

KEEP in mind this is a 89 dollar part i may not need..

The reason why im also thinking it may not be the high beam switch is because..The high beams are the only headlights that are working they are stuck on (I think). Yet the high beam switch on the dash is not on.. And the high beam switch still does nothing to turn it on or off.

Ive already taken the peice of crap apart and cleaned it and then reasembled it to have the exact same problem. So that is why i think it is the high beam switch.

Would the low beam bulbs be blown and the truck automatically turns on the high beams and keeps them on until you change the low beam bulbs whether or not you sit there f****** with the switch it will still keep them on Also with the high beam dash light off Like it is.

So please help.. Thank you:icon_confused::icon_confused::shok:

No. Low beams arnt being over ridden. Sounds like you definantly need a new switch. Or if you got lucky the 2 wires may be touching and confusing itsself.

Fixed problem, blown fuse, dirty switch, 1 blown headlamp.
