Hello,

I'm new to this site, I'm looking for advice on my 98 ford ranger XLT . I currently bought this truck about 6 months ago, the fellow i bought it off said the truck was professionally lowered by a richmond dealership in BC, Canada. So they say...

Since i bought it, the inside of my tires are completely worn out and the tires are leaning in. I have been told that my ball joints need to be replaced, would there be anything else that would affect this? some have suggested an Alignment. Only the front tires are wearing out.

Any advise on what could fix this?

I do not know how low it's been lowered, Does anyone have the measurement from the top of wheel rim to ground on a standard height 98 ford ranger XLT side step ?

I can tell you as a previous owner of a 98 i ended up replacing my whole front suspension. The kits didnt come with adjustable ball joints like what you see in car suspensions these days

More than likely your truck was lowered with the DJM Lowering Kit, although there are a couple others out there, DJM being by far the most popular. Check under the front and see if you have stock or aftermarket upper/lower control arms. The DJM ones are a grey/black speckle powder coat and tubular.

To correct the camber, you will need what is called eccentric washers. You can find them online or at most auto parts stores if you want to do it yourself. Sometimes the alignment shops carry them and can install them for you as well.
