That's right... disappearance. Recently replaced heads with rebuilt heads. Took a 1400 mile trip over one weekend about two weeks after that, with no oil loss. Now, about 5 weeks after head replacement, going through a constant 3 qts per week.

In a 99 4.0, there is NO smoke, NO oil in coolant, and the engine exterior is clean and dry. I'm due for an oil change and even the oil filter is clean. Any ideas where the oil could be going?:dunno::dntknw:

Out the exhaust pipe? Look at your spark plugs for evidence.

Smoking exhaust is VERY hard for the driver to see, unless it's excruciatingly bad.

But not for the cops! I was pulled over once in my Austin that burned oil on decel.

pull your spark plugs and see what they look like.that will give ya a good clue

Will do. I'll let you know.
