As it states i have no 4 low. I have looked at other posts with no avail. When i push the 4 low button i get nothing no noise or light. I have checked everything i know of. I put a new shift motor on,checked pushbutton switch, wires etc all have checked out good. I am in neutral with my foot on the brake so i know that is not it and i would say that my neutral safety switch is good because i can only start in park or neutral.. Anybody know of anything i am overlooking??:dntknw:

Thanks
nick

So 4hi works just fine but 4lo doesn't work at all?

If that is the case, then I would try turning the t-case by hand, to see if it will even go into 4 low.

that is correct.

BlackBII i manually put in 4 low with a pair visegrips went into with with ease and i spun the front drive shaft to make sure it was engaged i have not ideal what it could be at this point..

is there anything else that could stop it. it acts like the is no power going to motor when 4 low is pushed. no noise of relays clicking or motor turning and no lights .i have did the self check on the computer it is working right.:icon_confused:

as i stated in my first post i am in neutral with my foot on the brake

You can't hear the relay or motor click when you push 4 low? Does the 4 low light come on, on the dash that is? If it doesn't come on, I'd say it's a switch issue or 4wd module issue. Especially if it did this with two different motors. All the bad motors I've had caused the 4wd shift module to click the relays much more than they should have been.

AKBroncoII you are correct with the symptoms . That is what i was thinking but was not to sure if the
4wd module could only half way mess up i thought it might be all or nothing.. i bought the switch off ebay i am going to double check it to make sure that i did not overlook something being wrong with it. thanks for your help AKBroncoII. if there is anything else i am overlooking let me know. i am ready to go play in the mud..

ok guys here is what i found switch is good. computer good. motor good. using the info in the tech page i found that my speed sensor should be reading 235-470 ohms i get nothing. could this be my problem? i hope it is 18 bucks and 4 low again:yahoo. i am assuming that this is the sensor that has a 2 wire plug on it and a gear and goes into the tcase by the output shaft.

Hey Nick344,

could you repear your 4Low by changing the speed sensor?
I tried everything in my 93 4x4 Ranger and the only problem I find is that sensor not sending any ohms. Everything else is working perfectly...
Now the problem comes up: here in Mexico it's reaaaaally expensive to buy that sensor (my truck is American...). I've read that it's very easy for you to find them in yunkjards. Would any of you guys send me one? I pay for the part and shipping, of course (paypal would be ok?). Please, if you have one of them lying around, just throw it in an envelope. It's not that much and you'd make me and my Ranger happy again!

Thanks and excuse my English...

yes that fixed mine. i took all the ones that the local junckyard had and alredy sold them. when i go back i check and see if they have anymore.
