you could try advanced adapters, but i doubt any company makes one.
my uncle once put a john deere engine in a studabaker truck using a rim to make a bell housing to bolt up the stock trans

An fm146 mated to a SBC???????

:icon_confused:

I'm suprised it held up behind the 4.0

Whatever you choose to go with, this is not an easy or staight forward swap....and certainly not going to be cheaper than finding a junkyard 4.0.......

or a junkyard 700R4 to put behind the 350... That 350 is going to eat the fm146 alive. There a ton of different transmissions that were used in chevy trucks behind the small block bolt pattern and I'm sure you could pick up a good one dirt cheap from any yard near you.

yeah i no it . . .but if i go with a gm 4 wheel drive tranny then i gotta go thru the process of findin another t case, drive shafts an axles:bawling:

Help!! You need a head scan!!

The FM146 doesn't live for shit behind a 2.9 let alone a 350. It will be a LOT cheaper in the long run to find another 4.0 and for your tranny's sake, a M5OD before you kill that mitsu.

Sell the 350 and buy another 4.0.

Yeah, don't even bother with the 350 hooked up to a FM146. Get another 4.0L, it'll probably be cheaper when it's all said and done. And get an M5OD while you're at it.
