I recently bought Ford ranger and It seems to have some work done to it as we keep discovering. at the most recent checkup we did we were doing a break job and noticed the the front pad were not being fully used like the rotor was too small. When we bought it the control arms had been completely redone and are brand new but the pads are grinding because of the small size of the rotor. is there and older gen that had smaller rotors or a newer gen. because I want to redo them but I'm not sure how to with the arms being different.
the red is what is not being used and the blue was worn all the way down to like 5mm of thickness
does anyone know how I could fix this.

Can you measure the width of your rotors? They should be about 11” wide. If not, someone’s put smaller rotors on the truck.

all right ill try that thanks I wasn't sure what the stock size was or not.

I feel like I've seen this before. I just wish I could remember the details. Maybe someone mixed up Ranger and Explorer parts or Mustang parts... It might have even been something GM.

I know that the 2000 Ranger 2wd had a stock and a heavy duty suspension/brake option which resulted in two different front brake rotor sizes. I don’t remember the details because it’s been a lot of years since I worked on one.

Also, I’m moving this over to brakes…
