so i was driving 2 days ago and my Driveshaft Dropped on my 94 Mazda b2300 2wd... the driveshaft decided to separate after the center driveshaft mount. since getting it towed to my place ive removed the Driveshaft and then today i was walkin by and noticed tht my Drivers side Tire wasnt where is should be.. so i thought my axle had floated a little... Nope.. my passanger side was right where it should be (by Eye ball) so i Stupidly climbed under my truck and noticed tht well FML my Rim is attached with all 5 lugs still to the axle yet my drum is sittin still attached to the axle and tire about ohh 4-5 inches out while the rest of the assmebly is still where it should be.. so i gtfo from under the truck and jacked it up to see the damages to the axle.. well the axle is free spinning still but tht is with passanger tire on ground.. not tht it makes a differance if opposite tire is on the ground if the axle slides right out of the axle housing like a nice smooth sleeve...
Now to the Questions,
What causes a Driveshaft to do tht?
How to i find out what Differential i Have without taking it apart?
Is it worth Repairing?
and where should i look for parts? (i live in seattle but can travel Via other peoples cars to belfair)

You probably have a 7.5".
Look at these two links:

http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/diagrams/expaxle.GIF

http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/AxleSeal.html

then this one: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Axles.html

says:

C-Clips:

The 7.5-inch and 8.8-inch axles retain the axles using C-Clips. The C-Clip slides over the end of the axle shaft after it is inserted in to the side gears of the differential. If one of the clips break and falls out of its groove in the axle, the axle will slide out of the axle tube. C-Clip eliminators are available which hold the axle in the axle tube.

You're gonna have to take the cover off, minimum.
Even if you have to buy a new axle, bearing, seal and c-clip, it's worth repairing. You're not talking hundreds of $$ in parts and oil and a tube of RTV sealant.

how much damage could be caused by this since my draveshaft looks to be almost bent at a 45+ degree angle moving towards a 90??
should i replace driveshaft from the tranny back out mount back also??
i ask these cause its all happened since my driveshaft dropped...
Also to mention tht my Car was hit at 50 MPH in the Driverside Tire which is the one not attached atm....

Might be easiest to swap in a JY Rear :dunno:

Examine the axle 'tubes' to ensure they are correctly aligned. If the shaft got kicked out of shape? Check the tube to ensure it's not bent.

ok i would call picknpull to see if they have your truck and go get the rearend
it will run you a hundred or less or you can take the parts off that you need there real cheep to . they have a yard in lynnwood and tacoma and arlington too so you have your options . good luck :icon_cheers:

I used to have a 94 b2300 i loved that truck. i had to replace the rear end in it. just call a parts yard think i got a tight low mile rear end for 125 bucks so not to bad. its easy enough to replace in the garage. but i had my mechanic do it. he only charged me like 100 i put an 8.8 in the rear end, made a big difference.

MY 94 rear axle blew the spider gears a while back went to my local yard and pulled a axle from a 2001 mazda b2300 for $100 swapped it and has been working fine since.
