Keep an eye out for a donor truck 1 that's been wrecked or tranny troubles try to get 1 as close to your year as poss get motor,exhaust manifolds radiator,air intake,power steering pump n hoses complete under hood wiring harness & ecu.Read the the first post in this thread,do the swap you wont be sorry!

'88 should be a 2.9, easily identified by the large "2.9 Electronic Fuel Injected" on the intake plenum.
That will make a difference in your swap if some poor fool swapped in a carbed 2.8 from a 83-85 truck, after this many moons it is always a chance.
