ok so I have this 84 rangr reg cab long box with a 2.8 swaped in to it out of a 85, ran awsome for a few years then it ran like shit parked it turned out to be the crab, replaced the carb and i used it around the farm pulling empty wagons around mostly, checking fields for dad and such, didnt really beat on it. parked it for the winter went to start it and i thought the starter was siezed when the battery just didnt have enough juice. i pulled the starter and cleaned it all when i put it in though i must of cross threaded the upper hole, I need some help on how to get that fixxed, second thing is that im not getting fuel, its done this to me before, I dont know if its the fuel pump or what but i let it sit for a few days and then away it went..

my main problem right now is that she has bad head gaskets, I called a parts store and they were 70 bucks for the head gasket kit, thats everything to get the job done. i didnt think it was bad.

my question is how hard is it to replace the head gasket? I dont think it could be too bad, Im sure im gonna brake alot of bolts though, shes rusty...

not hard but 9 times out of 10, the heads are warped or cracked due to overheating, might want to find a replacement set of heads or have the heads redone(if they arent too bad), might as well do a p&p job and port match the intake while u have it apart(give u more power, better mileage)

hope this helps

Check all your electrical connections. After sitting awhile corrosion gets in there and wreaks havoc.
