help , I installed head and truck wont start

So I just installed my rebuilt head cylinder, and didnt align marks, question is , after aligning the marks is my timing gonna be set or is there anything else, I know some cars cylinder one has to be at tdc, is it the same with my ranger, it has a 2.3 engine , 8 plugs no distribuitor, if anyone cam give me some detailed instructions or a link to a how to, I searched but couldnt find nothing

I cannot speak for your truck specifically, but typically, you set all your pulleys to their marks, and the crank shaft pulley should put whichever cylinder you'd need at TDC.

From there it should start, at which point you need a timing light to finish adjusting it.

This sets the Valve/Piston timing, the spark timing on distributorless system is done by sensors.

After installing the belt and aligning the marks, make sure the tensioner is tight, then rotate crank 180deg(1/2 turn) one way then back 180deg to TDC again, so forward and back.
Now check the marks again, you can be off by 1 tooth because of tensioner, if so reset and test again.
If you are off by 1 or 2 teeth on the Cam gear the engine will start but be sluggish because of low compression.
