So i have a 93 Ranger 4.0 4x4 with a manual and it's having some issues.

First of all, it runs fine till it gets warm then the check engine light starts going on and off every once in a while and i suddenly lose a bunch of power like i'm running out of gas or losing cylinders. I scanned the codes and got 173and 176, running lean and running rich. I'm stumped and i've read around here and apparently i'm not the only one with this problem so someone help us out pleeease!

Background info: Just replaced the alternator with 130amp from a 97, not sure if that would effect anything. And i cleaned the o2 sensor plugs. Oh and, minor detail, i just drove the passenger side of my truck under like 5 feet of water about a week ago

I think you may have thermally shocked one of your oxygen sensors
and broken the internal element.

Also sounds like you may have accidentally gotten the O2 sensor connections swapped - running the left sensor for the right bank and vice-verse will cause the lean / rich codes.
