Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and hope I am typing this in the correct area. I bought a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT two days ago. It has a few problem areas, one of which being the center armrest console. The truck has two bucket seats so the center armrest is independent of the seat. Does anyone have any advise on how to fix the bracket on both the armrest and the hinge inside the center console.

I have surfed the internet for a used part but so far no luck.

My thanks in advance,
Melanie

Have you looked into a local salvage yard? It's hit and miss with those places, and usually the ones that are there are roached, but still, worth a shot! Also, eBay! It will also be hit and miss, but if you're patient enough, you will eventually find the right one.

There used to be a kit available to fix this problem.
It consisted of a New Plate that went under the arm rest and included a new hinge assembly.

I got mine from Rock Auto, not sure if they are still there or if anyone else might have them but something to think on !
