I have a 96 regular cab ranger and im wanting to get an 8.8 rear end with disk brakes and limited slip......what do i need to look for when i go to the junk yard?

Look for a 95+ explorer axle. If it is limited slip, it will have an "L" in the tag number. For example, an axle with a 3.73 ratio and limited slip should look like this: 3L73.
Expect to pay around $200-$300 for one in decent shape, at least, those are the prices around here. :icon_thumby:

well, yes but...
you won't find a stock 5.13....

4.10 is the lowest stock ones. that's the lowest they offered.

oh ok....i was just using that as an example. Im really looking for something close to what is in my truck now....(not sure what it is)

Check the tech library, all the info is there to tell you what to look for. Made my drum to disk swap a no brainer.
