im getting a 3.0 to put in my truck and it is out of a 2000 my truck is a 99. he said where the motor mount bolts go are broke on the block but can be welded.
Is this actually possible with a cast block??
Thanks

What the hell did he do to break that??

I'd have someone who knows how to weld cast iron do that. It's tricky business.

Ouch, and it atually broke it off the block?

Get a professional shop's opinion about whether it can a) be done and b) be safe. That's one place you sure as hell don't want to be iffy about.

If it actually broke the mount for the engine mount off of the block I would be leary about using it at all. It could have really weakend the block when that part was torn away.

Not to mention internal impact trauma to internal parts like the thrust bearing.

Frankly I wouldn't touch that engine with a ten foot Pole (Or an eleven foot Hungarian:)

Dont do it. Just find another motor. Yes the block is cast and I think what he means is that the bosses that are cast into the block and get drilled for the mounting bracket holes are snapped off.
