Been driving a 1999 4x4 3.0l for 11 years and it's still running great. I realize I drive a turd, but I enjoy modifications or improving upon anything I can. Now that I have another car, i just want to tinker with the Ranger.
I considered an engine/trans swap but it's just not for me right now, a ton of effort. I trust the 3.0l, and it still gives me very few problems. Always looking for suggestions or things to work on though!
Have Done
Stiffer springs, shackles, rear block removal
Shift kit and new valve body gasket
Ported upper and lower, 56mm TB
Shorty headers and cat-back
ASP crank pulley
Little things like MAF, intake silencer, coil pack
01 front end (deer)
Currently doing
Bought heads to try porting
Bought explorer axle, saving for discs and gears
Want to do/learn
Get another engine or trans to tear down.
Fix my saggy T-bars
E-fan or no?
Add my fogs before winter
Fix seats and interior overall
