The 2.9 in my 86 is a strong little engine. Worth a rebuild I think. I had to get new heads off ebay, mine cracked like they all seem to do eventually.

I inherited an 87 4wd ranger with a blown 2.9 in May. I put in a rebuilt engine and now I’m awaiting a couple of brake lines, last part I need to get it on the road. I’m surprised myself at how excited I am over this silly little thing. Then it will be some amateur paint and accessories.
