I regrettably sold my 94 4.0 longbed...and was working on a project car. Although I have finished the project car I miss my Ranger. This time I wanna supercab (or Mazda as well) (4x2, auto, air and cruise)-gotta kid now. I dont want a new truck, kinda weird but we have newer vehicles. My wife hates me always working on the older ones -but it keeps me out of trouble. Im kinda wanting a 93-97 3.0 or 4.0, but not sure whch is better. Had the 4.0 in my last Ranger, and the 3.0 in the early Taurus...and I read the forms. Any help on which one actually will last longer...reliabilty-wise. I have found a 93 with a 3.0 and a 96 with a 4.0-all the options I want-both have 130k on them. Is $4,000.00 too mich to pay? I hove found them for $3,000. and under asking....this will be the start...and I am not wanting to do another engine swap right away-As I did with my 1993 Mazda MX-6 JSPEC/KLZE. Well if anyone can help besides what the forums say, please let me know? Great site!! I thought a good way to get another older ranger was to ask the experts-which are on this site.
