Hey folks, new here with my 1996 Ranger XLT super cab with the 3.slow and according to the local Ford Dealer's vin search, 'special' suspension, whatever that means
I bought this truck about 3 years a go to haul my motorcycle and drive when weather was bad, have been to North Carolina in it, And really the only complaint I can register is it is not enough towing capacity (I own a 3163lb travel trailer that is my fulltime home, and while the Ranger will pull it on flatland, I'd be afraid to try it in the mountains lol)
There is one annoying thing, a tendency to go into detonation under load
So far I've been too lazy to track down the Coolant, Oil, and Trans leaks, gotta get with that
Currently planning to do a 'dirtbag' camper conversion, with the old Leer commercial topper i have on it, but slow process, as funds are lacking
I have purchased a set of 15" wheels to replace the 14s the PO stuck on it (factory it had 235/60/15 tires, ridiculous on something this slow) so I can put Goodyear Wranglers on it, as car tires and unimproved road tend not to be a good mix (and it could stand some extra ride height) and I need to find a stock jack (flor jacks don't work too well for trucks)
