Well Just signed up here. Don't have a Ranger just yet. Thinking about it very seriously though. I'm currently in the process of possibly trading my 1996 S10 Blazer for a 1993 Ranger XLT Extended Cab. Just wanted to ask around and see how reliable these trucks are? I've owned nothing but Chevy's and was against Ford until I realized I needed a truck and this has been the only offer. Truck is a 2wd model, Green Exterior and Gray Interior. Has 30x9.50 All Terrains with only 1,000 miles on them. Engine was replaced by previous owner so the mileage is unknown. It's a 3.0, 5 speed transmission. I'm looking to get it for the better gas mileage and the fact I need a truck more than a SUV. Any tips would be helpful! Thanks!

William

Sounds pretty good--my first Ranger was(is) an '89 XLT (got 180,000 miles on it now)--guess it depends on how well you take care of something---bring it to a good repair shop & spend a few dollars to get it checked out (cylinder compression, drive shaft slack, xmsn noise, rear end gear slack, radiator leakage?, alternator output, a/c?, etc):headbang:
