I recently got a hold of my grandfathers 1992 Ranger Custom. Its an extended cab, 4x4 with a 2.9 and an automatic. It didn't run when I got it and I had to spend 2500 to get it going (more than the truck is worth I am afraid) but it was my grandpa's truck and I intend to get it up and running good, although probably not do a full resto. This is Missouri after all and it is pretty rusted underneath.

I'll be looking for any info on engine swaps. The 2.9 barely pulls itself down the road, let alone with anything in the back. Looking at 4.0L and maybe a small V8?

Anyhoo...Nice to see there are a lot of Ranger people out here.

Other vehicles are a 2006 Ford 500 SEL (wife), 2005 F150 XLT screw 4x4, and a 2007 Mustang GT/CS.

Welcome, you think it is rusty, ought to see what you get farther North. I know of several down your way who have done the V-8 swap and are very happy with the results. Any problems with meeting emisions down in your county/area?
Dave

Welcome to TRS my fellow Missourian, What part of MO are you from? i'm in the south east part of the state. I have a BII that has a 302 and straight axle, there is alot of info on here but if you need help, ask. Clint

None that I know of. I guess I will tackle that when the time comes. I had a 67 Mustang with headers and glass packs that exited the side, and it passed. But that was a few years ago. haha

I am in Columbia. Been looking around and it looks like there is a wealth of info on here.

Thanks!

I tried posting a reply last night, but somehow it didn't make it on here.

I'm just down the road from you in Warrensburg. I'll probably be in Columbia at the end of this month...

Going to school there or just live there? I've been there a few times but not for a few years. I'm going to be in Tulsa towards the end of the month and then in IA and IL in December. No rest for the wicked I guess.

Good to have more Missourians!

Welcome to TRS :icon_thumby:

I used to live in KC, and a friend of mine attended CSU in Warrensburg. Pretty familiar with the area.

Be back in the area for a day or two after the first of the year. My old stompin group used to be the NKC/Gladstone area.
