I've owned my 87 Ford Ranger for 13 years. I'm the second owner. Bought her from an old man up in Seattle. She's a good little truck with a lot of quirks that I just deal with -- like no odometer, no gas gauge, no speedometer. I'm not mechanical, so I take my chances, which has gone pretty well -- I've only run out of gas twice in our 13 years.
The reason I am joining this group is because I would like to get advice on how to fix the current issue that developed -- the turn signals stopped working. The rear wires are broken and hanging down. When I went to investigate the situation, I found that all of the wires are so brittle that they easily break. I think it is time to replace all of the wires. Is this something that I should tackle myself? I've never wired anything. I looked at the wiring diagram and it makes sense, but what parts do I need? If you don't recommend a newbie to replace wires, then do you have a suggestion for an Austin Texas mechanic?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
