Just joined your very informative site.A few tips from a old wrench puller with Rangers,#1 rear spring mounts oil the crap out of them "as in rust proof" or they will rot out and you will have a leaf spring mount through the truck bed. #2 Ignition control Module, crank sensor, before buying new and expensive replacements for no start or running like shat, cut into the harness and check that the black to yellow single wire with connector off the crank sensor harness has not rotted off inside(seen this few times)if it is thats your problem and relocate you ICM off the manifold ,heat kills them(mine is mounted on a plate on top of the power steering bracket where the A/C pump would go..#3 for guys that need smog checks and are suffering high Nox numbers pull your spout connector and take her back for a sniff,9 times out of 10 she will pass with the spout pulled#4 for you guys running a auto trans Ranger, put a after market trans cooler on it inline with the factory rad cooler and change the trans oil and filter once a year(cheap insurance).Sorry about my computer skills.... Cheers guys

Also the tube where the temp sensor is mounter have a bad habit of rotting out,I repaired my pin hole with JB Weld and it has held for 3 years and if you only have one fan speed on your heater it is the crappy Ford heater resister mounted on the heater box under the hood, fairly cheap to replace but the connector most likely is melted solid(cut the wires and crimp spades to them and when connected to new resister fill it in with silicone).these fixes are mainly for the 2.3 liter trucks.I will try to list more unless I am told to shut up and go away.

Welcome to TRS.
You should start a new thread with pics of your truck.
I like tips and tricks. Check out the tech section [top of page]and if some or all of your tips are not already there, submit them for inclusion. Tech articles are always welcome and Jim [TRS] is looking for video tech if you have the capability.
