Have any of you guys with the 4.0 ohv(or any ranger motor) had problems with leaky heater control valves? I'm on my second one and they both formed a leak around the metal arm that moves. I've come to the conclusion that it only leaks when the engine is cold.
Any input would be great.

Yep, replace them all the time. I've replaced the one on my '97 twice in 165,000 miles. Very common.

Use the Motorcraft replacement. They last a lot longer.

EDIT: P/N YG350 - they are $18 through Rock Auto.

Okay, thanks to both of you. I thought I was the only one...
