Heater blower fan

It's getting cooler here in KY and I've got to get this "fixed".

The blower on my 92 ranger 2.9 will only work on high, and when it's in the off position it blows all the time...albeit probably less than it would if it was on "low". Also, when I turn it on high, the amp gauge goes way down...I don't notice a difference in the engine idle when it happens.

Any ideas on where to start?

Since it works on high, you know the fan is good. It's more than likley a bad blower resistor or a problem at the resistor connector . It's under the hood on the blower fan housing.

I agree, sounds like the resistor to me as well.
