I got a new ranger a few months ago and its my new DD as well as my truck for college. I am in alaska and gonna move to Anchorage for college in January, where its like 0 degrees some days, and the Slopes are only a 30 minute drive so I will be Snowboarding alot.

I saw it on one of those shows like over haulin or pimp my rider or something where they put like heater pads in the seats to make heated seats and now I want to do something similar.

Does anyone know how hard it would be to remove the seat fabric and cut a thin layer of foam up to slip the pads under? I have an idea of what I want and how they probably need to be done, but where do I get the pads? Any companies people know of and like? Anyone done something similar?

I plan on running them through some hidden toggle switches and have a relay setup so the powers in the engine bay and they are only on when accessory is on (like a remote wire from the radio igniton?)

and yes I know its a little confusing but I am pretty tired at the moment. :P

Yeah well my moms subi has them factory and they are really nice in the winter. So I was like well this is my snowboarding truck.. i should get one. I already have a block heater and battery blanket so i can plug in and keep that stuff good.

Thanks those are what I was looking for! I found a kit that includes switches and stuff!

I unfortunatly have a stick shift so no auto starter for me. not like i need one, I run out and start it myself anways.

Good deal, yea my mom had a jeep with remote start that was a 5 speed, it was a whole process turning the vehcle off to set the safety to remote start it lol..

That looks like it will work fine, let us know how it works out and what kit you get, im curious my self!

I put seat heaters in my old ranger seats before mounting them in my girl's jeep, it is not hard to install them at all, just need some common sense, and basic wiring skills. I would highly recommend using a keyed on relay, to prevent draining the battery, and i recommend you do get them, in the winter start your truck and toss the seat on high, because when you come back in 5-10 min it's nice to hop in a warm truck seat.

Oh and there a real big hit with the ladies.
