Ok...so i found out after my blower motor went bad i replaced it and now it only works on the highest setting. I've read posts saying it could be a resistor? Would this be the same on a 83 2.3L ranger? Also it will blow semi luke warm air through the floor heat and dash heat but the defrost will only blow cold......would this be a heater core? Both of my lines going in and out of the firewall are hot. One scalding hot and the other pretty hot. Any ideas?

blower motor ... I believe the resistor is the same for all rangers. The temperature issue is probably a flow problem, either blacked heater core, or valving problem (if it has the inline H-valve that an AC equipped ranger has.
The hot hoses make me think it is probably heater core, but check it out before replacing things wily-nilly.

so if both hoses are heated up would that be a sign the heater core possibly is not dissipating any heat? I'm assuming with a properly functioning heator core one hose might not be so hot cause the core is stealing some heat? Also i'm not sure if my truck has AC all i know is it has heat control....so as far as i know turning it to the blue cold side of the selector is AC? One more thing is as far as i know the heater cores are fairly easy to change on the older rangers right under the passenger side dash?
