My factory radio is dying in my B3000, it is the cd, cassette, radio combo. I am going to replace it but I need to know the Specs. of the O.E. to compare it to aftermarket radios. RMS/FM sensitivity and such. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do I dare ask why so technical...?

What's so wrong with a good high quality aftermarket headunit?

I will be getting an aftermarket stereo but I don't want to get one worse than stock. There are some real pieces of garbage out there if one doesn't check.

I saw someone here had posted factory specs by manufacturer brand. I pulled my stereo and found out it is an Altec. if someone knows where it is please let me know

I got a new stereo a Dual X2DMA400 and speakers Polk DXI570 from Crutchfield and all of the adapters needed now I can listen to cds again. I will post pics as soon ans I can.
The only extra thing that I had to buy was a soldering gun from Harbor Freight.

CDs?????

People still use CDs, lol

joking, I still have my 8-track around here somewhere

I do not know the specs of the OEM Radio but almost any aftermarket CD/DVD/USB Port type radio will be better than OEM.
Just get one that fits what you want, maybe iPod or 3.5mm Aux input, there all out there, how about a Double Din setup with Navigation; I have one for sale.

Once you get the radio in place next will be new speakers, almost a must do.

Lol funny because not too long ago I upgraded to a new dual head unit also. I got it with cd, aux in, usb, and all the bells and whistles. I've never used any of them ever O_O except the Bluetooth feature lol

All that talk about specs and such.... And you bought a Dual....

The Dual is way better than stock I originally just put the head unit in and on my way to work the next day I put in my favorite Linkin Park and the speakers went boom, when I got home I ordered the speakers. Since then no problems and awesome sound.

Urban beat me too it,

I would be prepared to replace that in a while, I saw a dual unit that I liked a while ago to put in my spitfire, its a convertible so if it gets stolen i wouldn't be out much. it lasted about a month of weekend driving and features started failing. first the cd player went out then the tuner then the usb function.

so i decided to tear it apart and it was all wave soldered and very very cheaply made and its no wonder it failed. the polk's on the other hand were a good decision, i have them in my house and in my garage, if the speakers in the spit give out i will go with polk or kenwood
