okay im puttin a new pioneer headunit in my best friends seabring a MVH-P8200BT to be exact. and it has the green parking break wire that only lets you watch movies while the parking break is engaged. yeah yeah yeah i know its a safety precaution and against the law. save it, i dont care. sorry just dont want to hear the negatives guys :) anyways is the green wire positive or negative? to by pass it do i need to ground it? or do i need to come up with a power supply. i was looking on someother forums and somebody said you could just splice it into the raido ground some people said that there was a realy involved by using the amp turn on wire and some other voodoo magic. any ideas guys? preciate the help in advanec

I know somebody who has one of those fancy radios that plays movies and he just grounded the wire that is supposed to go to the parking brake. I am not sure if yours is the same.

I know on the Pioneer in my wife's car it just needed to be grounded. Hope that helps. To be clear, we did NOT do it to watch movies while driving (it's never used for movies in the first place). The hack was so that a passenger could manipulate navigation settings while on the road.

My friend has the older model of that head unit in his mustang. we grounded the green wire and video works without p break

okay so it is just a ground wire. ill prolly just tap it to the radio ground and call it good.

Pioneer and Kenwood both use the ground wire from the parking brake.

okay. now get this im installing this in to a 2007 chrysler seabring... and it has to acc turn on wire.... im soo confused. everywiring diagram iv found says that theres not one. and i cant find one with a the voltmeter

use a toggle switch for the parking brake wire, that way when u flip the switch it comes on right. or just wire it to your parking brake and push it down a click or two(where its not engaging)(but u have to do some wierd pedal dances to get it to work. jensen i had i just grounded the pink wire. 2 clarions i had to wire to a switch, and the alpine i never could get to do right so i had to do the parkin brake thing. was fawkn aggravating

use a relay from your parking brake triggered by your remote wire it needs to see that its set each time you turn the key

google avic411, its another of their models that plays movies. They have a parking brake bypass wiki in both hardwire and software mod versions. Youtube also has videos of bypasses.
