Hello, my name is Jake and I'm the proud new poppa of a 95 Ranger Splash!

the PO drove highway miles everyday and kept this truck in beautiful condition.

As soon as i drove by the truck i knew it was mine. I love the look of stepsides and it was a 4x4 with a 5spd tranny. I was sold immediatly.

There are only two problem areas i have found so far:

passenger door/window trim;

and the rear shocks;

other then that the car is in great shape. The dealership i bought it from put on new rear shackles, brake lines all around, and undercoated (over surface rust) the undercarriage.

what sealed the deal for me is the bed, it shows almost no wear for a 14 year old truck.

Well I thought I'd just drop in and say hey :D

Thanks for the welcome! I'm looking forward to my time spent here learning about and working on my Ranger. my goals for the truck are to keep it functional for daily driving use but still be able to have a little fun now and then.

This is my first "truck" ever, i had an Explorer (read: Exploder), then a 91 crx, 72 beetle, and now my 95 Ranger. after only 2 days of driving it i'm already addicted to the power the 4.0 has in it, and paired with a 5spd tranny and me it's so much more fun than any of my other cars had been. I've even already taken my baby down an old rarely used gas well road and was slinging rooster tails of mud in 4wd :D

where was my mind at? whats an intro thread without a pic of yours truely?

You look very similar to my old college ID photo's........ except I looked less like Arlo Guthrie and more like Paul Bunyan.

Sweet truck, I want it..... I shall be searching for that exact model for my 4x4 build.
that shock has seen better days.

Frank

Welcome! Yep, you look like you'd fit in good up here (Wisconsin) but I think that picture was on the news last night. Just got to jump in and enjoy.
