I found a set of these for sale for 170. complete with the Y pipe that will bolt up to the original exhuast. (or so I am led to believe) haven't looked at them yet.

Question is.. can't find any info about what blocks these bolt up to... have a 90tm 4.0l with corresponding heads. are all these generic for these motors? or are there any changes to the patterns for heads? if so what years?

thanks

They actually only list them for the 90tm heads (90-94). Part #89400, so yes, they will fit your truck....unless it was an old set they have already discontinued for later (95tm or 98tm) heads...Even if that were so, they would be able to fit with minor modification to the y-pipe-to-cat converter flange. They changed this and are different from 90-94 trucks and 95+ trucks.

Thanks. For the price I have to look at these. (anything to be aware of when looking at used headers?) Is there a place that is weak>?

thanks

Use your judgement....I would check all the welds to ensure theyre not cracked, and make sure the flanges are flat. If not, you might be asking for more trouble than its worth trying to seal up leaks.

I also forgot to mention EGR hookups....Another possible fitment issue that can be resolved easily, but do be aware of it.

SFAIK the flanges on the heads don't change.

what specifically is different between the 90-94 4.0 and the '95-97
(I don't know about '98-up) is that the exact shape of the mating flange
between the cat and the Y-pipe changed.

It's a physically a different shape.
