Looking to replace the worn out headliner in my '94 B3000. My question is, will the Ranger extended cab headliners fit my B3000? Most websites I check say no but I've seen where parts are listed as not compatible but they still fit fine.

I would bet money it does... that said... I don't know for certain.

After much research I have found they are NOT the same part. The dimensions are just enough different that the extended cab headboard of a ranger will not work for the extended cab of a B3000. I also found that no one makes the B3000 headboard new anymore. I found a few places that will scrape the old foam and refresh a good headboard but that's it. It pains me but I'll be paying a local shop 300 smackeroos to refresh my headliner and replace the fabric with vinyl. I have not the tools or space to do the job myself.

@Guanfy I'll do it for for way less than that. You buy the stuff and I'll do it. I have the space and the knowledge. PM me if your interested.

So Ranger850 and I got together and were able to successfully refresh the headliner. This is the result:

49043

49044

And one more good one:

49045

A huge thank you to Ranger850 for his expertise. I pretty much provided materials and helped with the prepping, removal and installation of the headliner board. Ranger850 did all the secret sauce stuff.

Looks good, all put back together. Thanks for the assist, and the conversation. It's always nice to have somebody to talk to.

There are already some good headliner replacement tutorials out there so I don't think I'm going to write one up but a few thoughts particular to this truck:

  • In order to get the headliner out, shifter has to come out. Not a big deal but nice to know BEFORE you have your hands full of headliner and are trying to remove it without breaking it
  • I didn't do it, but it would be nice to take some time to tlc the ceiling of the truck before you put the headliner back in. I have a few spots of flash rust and paint peel I need to keep my eye on going into the future. Time constraints prevented me from taking care of those issues.
  • All the trim has to basically come out to get the headliner out. If you are having issues with your cargo cover, great time to service it is during this project
  • If your panel fasteners are toast, Dorman panel fastener 963013D works fine as a replacement You will need around 12 of them to fully replace all the panel fasteners used in the trim.

What? No disco ball?????

That looks awesome.

That came out nice using the diamond stitched pattern.
