headlights

what do you guys/gals think of projector headlights? i like them, but dunno about on the ranger..i wanna get blacked out ones with blacked out matching corners, but i have heard projector lights suck butt. let the discussion BEGIN.

I think they look pretty badass, but it depends on what Ranger. I personally only like them on newer ones.

I was going to start a thread similar to this.

I love the looks of them (the blacked ones) and want to get a set, but I have just wonder how effective they actually are. My mom's Mazda 3 has projectors, and that car has some good lighting!! I just don't know if that is the Mazda headlights, or if it is due to the projectors, or what.

If they are at all better than the stock headlights (not faded ones, just stock) then I will probably be getting a set.

yeah but projectors start at like $400 for a cheap set while the regular H.I.D headlights are half the price and a good brand with a 1 year warranty of any factory defects. But if you were just staying stock the Sylvania Silverstar-Ultra's honest impressed me for running on the stock ford headlights.

Eh, American made projectors are 400+, but the cheap ones made with Chinease slave labor, are 120 on Ebay...

Well I bought a set of the blacked out projectors and swapped them out from my stock ones(which were properly adjusted a month or so before) and hooked up the stock bulbs, had them adjusted and holy sweet baby jesus I can actually see more than 15 feet in front of me!!! And the the addition of the extra two smaller lights they make for a great wide angle projection!!!! I am very pleased with the results and it just looks AWESOME!!!!!! Those lights are being ran straight out of the stock headlight assembly with no ballast and they look like the expensive BMW or AUDI projectors?

Will do...I'll have them up tomorrow. And yeah it's a plug and play deal the only really tricky thing is the wiring of the small lights, just because of the routing of the wires.

really? i think the stock lights on my 93 seem almost as good as the 100w offroad lights on my 84.
go figure

Think they will make your truck look really stupid IMO.

it's a plug and play deal the only really tricky thing is the wiring of the small lights, just because of the routing of the wires.

I thought plug and play ment it comes with a ballist and everything and it plugs into stock headlight wiring

Well yeah all you really have to do is make a couple connections to the battery and ingnition wire(if you really even care) and then pop in your lights from the stock wiring harness, the whole installation took me about 30 minutes.

It's harder to tell because the flash on the camera but here they are...

And these can be turned on with out the corner lights or turned on with the corners and the main lights. What ever blows your skirt up.

i honestly like the stock look better than anything i dont like the blacked out headlights. tailights or anything i think you should leave them stock and just buy HIDs bulbs ive got like the sylavania white lights i polished the my headlights with a compound i bought at autozone and a wax pad and there bright as hell i get people flashing me to turn off my brights when im not even using brights
