every once in a while when i pull the knob to turn the headlights on the low beams dont come on.

the gauge lights work fine and after working the hi/lo beam switch the low beams come on,

the high beams work fine, just the lows are touchy, i havent had any problems once i get them on, its just the trouble of getting them to come on in the first place that is annoying

I'm having the same problem and I think it is the column switch that is causing it...if I just wiggle the column switch without trying the high beams the low beams will come on...ticks me off because I tossed a replacement switch for it just recently due to moving...

I'm going to try to find another column switch shortly...they work for now...

Short somewhere?

Oh, yea. Rebuild your left column switch.

Is this an 88? It's like mine if it is..I would say it's the headlight switch.

Short somewhere?

:icon_rofl:

No, actually, I'm 6'6"...

I was thinking about rebuilding the column switch, but I've usually just replaced them...might try that if I have time..,

Ha! Nice.

Did you fix it over the weekend?

Moi? No, mine is actually working...as long as I don't flash the high beams they stay on...that's what led me to believe it was the column switch and not the headlight switch...

I did have to redo the connector in the engine bay...old connectors never die, they just crumble till the slightest bump lets you know there is a loose wire somewhere...replaced it with a trailer light connector...so far, so good...:icon_thumby:
