the other night after work, i get into my truck, turn on my lights and notice my instrament cluster lights are hardly noticeable. i beleive they are on just very, very dim. what can i do to fix this problem? i need this fixed asap.

my other question is about the headlight switch. when i turn it to the middle setting, only my amber corner lights and my instrament cluster lights up. is that right? my headlights only come on when i turn the switch to the 3rd position. if thats not right, how can i fix this problem?

thanks in advance

Sounds like your dimmer is turned down low. You either turn the headlight knob or there's instead a wheel to turn, I think, on the newer year model trucks.
On the second question, sounds to me like it's working normal.
No owner's manual for the truck?

no owners manual. its a 2000 ranger, just the base model with a 2.5/auto

yeah i thought the headlight switch might be working right, just checking. now im not sure about the instrament cluster lights. i mean theyre hardly noticeable. i had to toggle the headlight switch a few times and noticed a slight glow. not enough to read the guages at night though.

i dont even know if i have a dimmer switch. where would it be located on my 2000 ranger?

That's probably it, then. Sorry, but I don't know the newer ones (my bumper sticker says: "My other truck is an old POS, too"); hang loose and somebody else will likely chime in for ya.

Thers a little wheel right next to the headlight knob push the wheel up untill it almost ckicks
