Finally got my new lights in today and was wondering what all has to come off in order to swap them out. Does the entire grill need to be removed or what? i looked at it and wasnt so sure and knew that this place would be the place to ask

Are you talking about new housings? Because the headlight bulbs just twist out.

complete new housings

i had a bulb go out about a month back and just got around to buying a new one and installing today.

on mine there were 4 screws that had to be removed, and then it popped out... pretty easy besides one of the screws was rusty.

my haynes repair manual told me to remove the entire grill because when they tried it the rubber surround was too hard to remove without the grill off...

anybody know how to calibrate/position these? i don't want to pay to have it done lol

i was out trying to replace them and was looking and it looks like they are only held on by the adjusters. am i really going to have to completly unscrew those long bolts just to get them off and then screw them all the way back in? or am i missing something

Lift the hood, look at the top of the grille. You have 6 or 7 phillips heads screws. Take them out, remove the grille. You'll see the inside screws that hold the headlight in. on the outside (of the headlight) there are 2 bolts that are held on by nuts for the corner lights. Take the nuts off and wiggle the corner light so it will pitch out. the headlight should slide out from there. Don't mess with the adjuster screws unless you want to re set them again.

wish i would have thought about this...

how can i reset them by myself? i don't wanna pay for it.

idk how they should look while projected on a wall

finally got them in today.

they look nice... GJDM

i only replaced one of mine, and it was a cheapie from the auto shop...

no point to me in getting like 60 dollar lights.. i don't off road or anything.

i mean i guess they "look" cool.... but the rest of my truck doesn't "look" cool right now, so i'll do those last or something haha.

i got tired of how yellow the housings were and just decided to do a little upgrade. it will be interesting to see how much brighter they are tonight. these came with some bulb in them and i might end up replacing it for a brighter one.

don't forget that headlamp watts for highway use are federally regulated. be careful they aren't too bright and get you ticketed! :bawling:
