headlight problem

I went to work and my headlights were fine, after work I tried using them and they wouldn't work. I've replaced the headlights bulbs, the fuses,the headlight switch and still nothing,but the high beams work just fine, any suggestions?

probably the multi-function switch (mounted on the steering column). the low beam headlights run through it...they are known for melting.
