i previously bought some headlights off of ebay (prob about 4 years ago) and just now had a headlight burn out. on an 88 are the bulbs accessible? i know i've seen a thing about baking the headlights, etc... but i'm not thinking i want to do that... is there any way to just replace the bulb and not the entire assembly itself?

recommendations on bulbs?
recommendations on entire assemblies (if i can't replace just the bulb)?

stock headlights are sealed beams, replace the whole housing. some of the ebay ones are a plastic or glass housing with a replaceable h4 bulb, theres a collar on the back you unscrew and pop in a new bulb. the thing about baking headlights is generally the plastic housings that people take apart to modify, not really applicable in your situation.

okay, i do have an aftermarket lamp so i will have to see if it has that or not... i'm really hoping it does.

Pull it out like a regular sealed beam and 1/4 turn the bulb socket on the back. Do not touch the glass of the new bulb.
