heades on a 4.0


it depends, what kind of work do you have done to your engine? are you planning on doing a performance exhaust after the headers? if not, then no its probably not worth it. but with an exhaust it is. hope this helps.
 
yea, it all depends on what ur gonna do to ur engine first. And u definately have to put a new exhaust system on after them to notice any power gains.
 
im going to put on a throtle body spacer high volume fuel pump cold air intake and for the rest of the exhaust just glass packs with true dual pipes

Well, all the stuff you just listed will do absolutely nothing for the performance of your engine... Putting headers on a stock engine is really useless unless you are going for a different exhaust note... I'd say save the money and use the factory manifolds...
 
Factory exhaust systems are restrictive by nature, even on high performance vehicles. Improving exhaust flow, and getting rid of excessive backpressure, helping the engine breathe better, will generally always help the engine be somewhat more efficient.

If you plan other engine modifications, even minor ones, the exhaust system certainly needs attention. When changing the exhaust, keep in mind that it can also hurt power if not properly done. Keep pipe sizes in check, and also header design.:)shady
 
Assuming from your profile that it is a 4.0 OHV, then headers will help but only with a better exhaust behind them.

On the late-model 4.0 SOHC, headers help little, if at all, simply because the stock manifolds are pretty good.
