Headers

I just cracked the headers I had on my truck. I got them used many years ago. I can not for the life of me find anyone who still sells long tube headers for the 2.8 4wd trucks. Anyone know if the 2wd headers will fit? Or know of a source for the aerostar headers/manifolds? Did they ever make headers for the 4wd trucks? I can not find a part number or manufacturer on my old headers. Any advice would be great!

I was just about to start a thread with the exact same question. Since no one answered your question I assume we're both out of luck. I too have looked all over and can't seem to find anyone still making 2.8 headers. Hopefully someone will answer with some good news. I'll keep looking and if I come up with anything i'll let you know.

I'm saleing a set of edlebrocks with out the y-pipe for what ever your want to give me, they are useless to me now...

You can't put 2wd headers on a 4x4. They tend to try and cross over through where the front drive shaft would be to get some more space between the pipes and the trans.

You CAN put 4x4 headers on a 2wd though.

Well the guy already had headers on his 4x4 so... All i know is the ones i have are edelbrock and i didnt try to install them cause i dont have a welder and my manifold havent been removed in 10 years probably

According to the tech library on here hedman sells headers for the 2.8 but I'm not sure 2wd or 4wd but it may pay off looking into it

I just looked on the hedman site under every year the 2.8 was in a ranger and they don't list the 2.8 anymore.

You are correct cause i believe tgose are for the 2.9
